Eye makeup tips for contact lens wearers

Eye makeup

If you are wearing contact lenses, you should have to choose your eye makeup carefully. You must know the right cosmetics type and the way to apply them correctly. There are many steps you can try to make your eye makeup easy and fast, without disturbing your contact lenses.

Use Primer:

First of all, you have to wash your hands then put your contact lenses in. After that, primer is the first step to start with because it helps keep shadows and liners in place.

Choose cream eye shadow:

Eye look is incomplete without an eye shadow. So go for cream eye shadows over powder ones because there are less chances to affect your eye. If you would prefer to use a powder eye shadow, keep your eyes closed and apply the shadow with a clean makeup brush. You can also hold a tissue under your eyes when you apply the powder shadow from getting into your eyes. Once you are done with applying the eye shadow, wipe the excess powder off with a tissue.

Use pencil eyeliner on outer eyelids:

Many online makeup tutorials will educate you about applying eyeliner on your inner eyelid or on the waterline under your eyelashes. But if you are wearing contact lenses, do not use eyeliner on the waterline under the lashes. Always use pencil eyeliner over gel or cream liners, which can not harm your eyes.

Use oil-free mascara:

Always avoid waterproof mascaras as they cannot be rinsed out with water and can harm soft contact lenses. Look for hypo-allergenic oil or fragrance-free mascara instead. When you are applying mascara, don’t brush on the root of your lashes to keep the product from touching your eyes.
